Designed to give you a whole new level of comfort you didn't know you were missing out on
I have severe plantar fasciitis and the shoes and insole had helped a lot in pain management after trying on for 2 weeks. Love the quality and spacious design. Would love to have more designs
Customer service online was not as responsive and I have to visit the shop to sort out my issue.
These are my second pair of Strydas, and I LOVE them! Together with Thien’s custom made orthorics, they are SO comfortable. I can’t wear any other shoes without being in pain. They are wide enough for my bunions, and they help with the arthritis pain in both my mid feet. I also have less lower back pain wearing these shoes.
I have many problems with my feet, including a plantar plate tear, a deformed toe, and an awful bunion.
After an online 'chat' with Thien following my purchase of these shoes, I gave them a good try. At first I was sceptical, but with a couple of weeks wearing them in, I took them overseas as my main footwear. They starred! I have just bought my second pair, which took almost no time to wear in. I won't go back to anything else now.
First off I want to say that these shoes are very well made, absolutely have a wide toe box and the fit is lovely. So if you like the extra supportive shoes that hold your ankle up these are good for you.
For me personally they don’t work. I ordered the shoes and insoles months ago. The shoes feel very stiff and a little like cardboard. For context I’m hypermobile and extremely particular about shoes. I wore orthotics for my entire childhood, always had foot pain and now frequent barefoot shoes and only wear sneakers for running, merry peoples at work, or doc Martin’s on occasion. I no longer wear orthotics and use exercise to strengthen my ankles instead.
These shoes were not comfortable at all. I’ve tried them multiple times over the last several months. The longest I lasted was 8hrs and I hated every second of it. More recently when I put them on, I take them off again before ever leaving the house. They are the correct size, nothing is wrong with the fit, I just hate the stiffness. I tried to persevere and wear them in. It made no difference. They hold their structure really well (a testament to the quality). So if you’re used to mobility in movements like I am and lean towards shoes that are soft and flexible these are NOT for you.
The insoles I like. I’ve worn them in all my other shoes. They did take some getting used to at first but now I wear them daily inside my merry people shoes for work. I work in health care and average 10000 steps a shift sometimes more. I find my feet are sore by the end of day three since using these insoles instead of the start of day 3 so the combination is definitely helping. A happy bonus is also that they reduce the smell when I take my shoes off. I work full time so feels like I live in my work shoes and they get hot/sweaty. Since swapping to these insoles that has reduced SIGNIFICANTLY. Having worn the insoles in all my shoes this is where they live now. I didn’t like them in my runners as they irritated my bursitis - however I was running on bitumen so potentially they’re not to blame. I’ve recently got new sneakers so will try again to see if I get the same results. I find them okay in my barefoot shoes. Not life changing enough to swap them back and forth but if I had a second pair I’d leave them in.
Overall I definitely recommend the insoles. Particularly if you walk a lot in your job.
The shoes are not for me but I can absolutely see how they’d work for someone else.
I own a lot of popular white sneakers, however these shoes simply stand out by a mile. The toe area is pretty wide and the material is pretty solid. I wear my sneakers every single day and usually the ones from popular brands would start tearing off after a few wears; however, this pair of shoes still look solid even after months and months of continuous walking. Truly a great pair of shoes.
My only complaint is the design of the shoes: a clean and minimalist design like the ones from Koio or Crown NorthHampton would be so ideal.
